Founded as a public charter school in 1998 by Dr. Allen Beck, Advantage Academy is operated by Eagle Advantage Schools, Inc. a non-profit organization.
We strive to embody the spirit of Abraham Lincoln, who we believe is the perfect role model for our students. Abraham Lincoln represents the qualities that help to establish the greatest nation that has ever existed. Our students are encouraged to emulate his strong character and determination, and what it can accomplish when coupled with strong moral convictions, a hard work ethic and faith in God and country. All of which is in line with our motto: “Building Champions with a Future and a Hope.”
With currently have over 1500 students at 4 campuses, Advantage Academy offers students a safe and nurturing environment that offers a full range of courses including Gifted and Talented, Pre-AP and AP courses. We also teach Creationism and Intelligent Design. Accredited through the Texas Education Agency (TEA), we offer career and technology training, dual credits with local colleges, sports, fine arts and many other club activities.
Although we are a public school, as a charter school it gives us the freedom to be more innovative in our instruction while holding us accountable for improved student achievement. In addition, as an open enrollment public charter school it also means there are no tuition fees and allows us to focus strongly on the influence of character teaching, including the teaching of our “Seven Pillars of a Champion.”
