Student Discipline is responsible for ensuring that the discipline system procedures for students are being implemented and followed by teachers and administrators on a daily basis. Student Discipline has a professional obligation to maintain an educational environment in which teachers can teach and children can learn without undue interference or disruption. The motto for those entrusted with Student Discipline is: fair, firm and consistent.
Student Discipline does not discriminate based on color, age, creed or gender but rather focuses on the facts that are being presented about a particular discipline situation. All students will receive an opportunity to speak and be heard concerning discipline situations or issues. Our goal is to redirect the child so that they spend less time out of the classroom, enabling them to continue their studies and become successful. If and when redirection is not an option, a variation of techniques may be used to bring the student into compliance.
